Jon began building the company as a DJ in the 90’s, and in 1998, established Jon Canaan Sound and Light. He provided sound and lighting for churches, weddings, and corporate events. His talents for event production and live sound were quickly noticed by clients, and the demand for increased services was apparent. Canaan Sound & Light was officially established several years later, along with his wife Talitha, who continued to share the vision. The company quickly expanded services to become one of the leading production companies in the Sacramento area. What started as DJing, has evolved into large scale corporate A/V, concert sound, staging and lighting and video LED services.
Canaan Sound & Light incorporated in 2016 and they work with teams of experienced system engineers, mix engineers, lighting designers, stage hands and producers to provide the client and artists with the experience they envision.
Our world has changed, and we are changing with it. We now offer web streaming of events, meetings, celebrations, worship services and more. We utilize popular content delivery services like YouTube, Facebook Live and the ever popular Zoom and Microsoft Teams. We use the Datavideo HS-1600T system with 3 HD camera and audio/video mix capability. Each individual camera connects with up to a 300’ CAT6 cable for full camera control and signal using one operator. We also have a great collection of studio lighting to take your current online appearance a few levels up. We can then add picture in picture for Powerpoint integration, title overlay and luma key effects. Our pricing is based on setup, lighting and other add on needs. Send us an email and let’s roll..
When the COVID crisis hit the world, new services were adopted by Cal-Fire and other emergency agencies. Distancing of people was necessary and with that came the need for multi platform broadcasting of important briefings, press conferences and meetings with outside agencies. We adapted and in 2020, spent a lot of time all over California providing broadcasting, audio and video support at many different large fires. We are a complete mobile production company. We provide cameras, switching, LED walls, social media platform support, staging, audio systems for large and small areas, wireless microphones and more. In 2021, we spent 70 days on the Caldor Fire in Northern California. We spent the first half in 100º Placerville, and the second half in snowy 28º Heavenly Resort in South Lake Tahoe.
